Have You Seen This Boat?

Many of you have written about your experiences with the historic sailboat, Niña.  It is not surprising people have stories to tell, since the Niña was built in 1928, and started winning races the first year she was launched, including the Fastnet race which years later would claim the lives of valiant sailors.  As a consolation for the 1978 tragedy, that Fastnet race was the beginning of better life support equipment, including life raft stowage and supreme construction.  Those changes may be what has given the Niña 7 the best crack at survival.

We believe the Niña is in this picture from
the David Dyche facebook page.  We are looking for a better
picture from the top down.

We are searching for a photograph from the top down to the decks.  Despite the thousands of photographs of the Niña, I have not seen a single top down pic.  Someone somewhere must have one.

Please forward to us if you have one or have seen one.  The search for the Niña continues.  It would be helpful to have a top-down profile for our satellite search which is in process.

You can send those to immigrants2bfree@gmail.com, please mark in the header Niña because I get a million emails a day!~

How can a crew survive this much time floating around in the currents of the Tasman Sea?  It is hard, but possible.  There is a lot of rainwater.  Turtle blood doubles as hydration in a pinch.  You can also drink your own recycled water, at least for awhile.  Fish are plentiful.  All it takes is an adventurous spirit.  The Niña crew has that in spades!

Personally, speaking for myself only, and no one else, if the Niña is still afloat, her crew is in the hands of the public.  Great effort has been spent in encouraging officials to do what they are charged to do.  The only voice left is your voice.  We encourage you to use it HERE.  You can also vote with a buck, as the private search to do the job the professionals should have done is costing an absolute mint.  The staff at Sailing Savoir Faire hopes an even better method for reaching out to people in charge will soon come into play.  Each of you has a lot to do with that.

They are going to kick it off to hot heels and happin'n toons in Lafayette, Louisiana, September 7th, 2013.  Several bands are coming together for a family fun day.  Then they kick it over to Bassett, Nebraska, thinking of all those people and towns in between.

We have a message we are working on, and it is time to solve the Nina mystery.

The Modern Woodsman will match up to $2,500 in donations in Bassett.  If we can't get the U.S. State Department to back us in our search, we will raise enough money to do it ourselves!

Inspiration:  Ninasearch

But don't sell Bassett short on the Action end.  They are going to ask everyone in the room to make a phone call to the U.S. State Department and ask them to support the Nina 7.  Will Lafayette make the same challenge?

Here is a number that works:
The phone number is 202.642.4000, choose option #4, then ask for John Kerry's Comment line!  Please leave a message!

Go on to a site called Tomnod.  Maybe you can find the Nina!

Who are the Nina 7?  If you are new to the blog, they are seven sailors, six Americans and a Brit, who are stranded on a yacht called the Nina.  The last communication was June 4th, 2013.  The rescue authorities called off the search on July 5th, 2013.

Information: Holding Hope For The Nina

If we don't find these precious souls then who will find them?  If we don't hammer our posts and our tweets, #ninarescue, if we don't ask America to support her hero's, if we don't ask England to support their hero, then what have we left to say for ourselves?

It doesn't matter who you are, what causes you believe in, what party you belong to.  This is a cause for all Americans and Englishmen and we are calling you to join with us in something every one of us understands:  Saving the lives of people we love, of American hero's

One those heroes is Evi Nemeth who is one of the original Graybeards on USENIX, and England's Matthew Wootton, who wants human kind to remain on this great Earth.  One of his solutions is finding ways to bring clean water so little children don't die of diarrhea.

Danielle Wright, Artist, Photographer, Psychology Student, Model, also loving life.

David Dyche, Rosemary Dyche and David Dyche IV, the people who restored the American treasure, the Nina!  This boat started winning races the year she was built in 1928 and she is still winning races in her class today!

Then we have a Sandhills native.  Kyle Jackson was politically active when he was in the U.S.  He worked as Paige in the U.S. Senate.  He is very inventive, a triathlete, and he will reach out and touch your soul if you give him a chance.

We need your support, watch for more details, they are com'in down the pike!

Kiwi Air landing role Nina Search

News:  The airplanes are back in the air looking for the Nina 7!  The cost is about 6 times per hour what they pay a high priced doctor.  The flights are flying in an area identified to be the most likely to hold the yacht, Nina.

The aircraft is basing out of Lord Howe Island to reduce the distance to the search grid.  The countries of New Zealand and Australia have equipment that is more suited to aerial searches over the ocean but refuse to task their equipment in the search for the Nina.  The U.S. has ships in the area on maneuvers including aircraft but also refuses to support the search for the Nina.

In 1989, the yacht, Rose Noelle, capsized off of the coast of New Zealand.  The search was closed and they even had a eulogy for one of the sailors.  It was 118 days later when the crew floated to land.  After the sailors made landfall they were accused of creating a hoax by embarrassed authorities.

Divers explored the Rose Noelle wreck site where she broke up on the rocks.  They confirmed the Rose Noelle met her end on the rocks of a New Zealand coast full of personal effects no one would have left behind.  The sailors who had lived through hell for months, forgotten on the high seas, were exonerated.

Captain David Dyche, a professional mariner, will be keeping a log of every significant event that transpires aboard the Nina.  When she washes up on land the world will know exactly how every crew person fares through careful documentation.

In 2012, the yacht Scotch Bonnet, was abandoned North of the last known location of the Nina.  The yacht, a Swan 41, was caught in the circular currents in the Tasman Sea for five and a half months.  She eventually drifted up onto an Australian beach.

There is no evidence the yacht sank except authorities have not been able to find her, which is not unusual for the Tasman Sea.  The families and their search advisor ask the U.S. State Department to support them in the search for the Nina.    That can best be done by first listening to the advice of the private search coordinator and advocating for the lives of the Nina 7 waiting for rescue.

If it was your mother, son, daughter, brother, spouse or significant other, would you expect less?
